From the banks of Gaza to the satirical replication of Hollywood's most licentious heiresses, Banksy's work can be found all over the earth in many different forms. Best known for his socially and politically driven stencil art, Banksy has become the hierarch of the street art movement bringing credibility to a new generation of artists. And although Banksy's works have been selling for prodigious amounts of money, he has kept to his roots and recently bedecked the city of New Orleans.
Bringing inspiration to those that need it most is the nobility of Street Art. Like the West Bank wall on the Israel-Palestine Border, New Orleans is an area desperately in need of artistic stimulation. By keeping his works on the streets, Banksy is able to share his art with the people and away from the sometimes pretentious crowds of art collectors and gallery goers.

"Saturated" by KAWS at Emmanuel Perrotin Gallery
The Emmanuel Perrotin Gallery does it again! This time with former graffiti writer turned designer/contemporary artist KAWS. KAWS' show, which is entitled "Saturated," will be showing from September 20th to November 15th at The Emmanuel Perrotin Gallery in Wynnwood. The Perrotin Gallery is definitely one of my favorite galleries in Miami. Perrotin is constantly raising the bar for Miami's art scene, bringing in amazing shows from artists in every genre, from local artist like Bhakti Baxter to internationally acclaimed artist such as Takashi Murakami.
Following the "Saturated" Show will be a furniture exhibition by Pharrell Williams in their gallery in Paris. Yea, thats right, Pharrell of the Neptunes and N*E*R*D! See what I mean about Perrotin. With Basel quickly approaching, Miami's Art scene is finally coming out of hibernation. Stay tuned for more info on other shows and exhibits.

Isaac Hayes 1942-2008
He was the voice that made Richard Roundtree into a super hero, his music would be sampled by everyone from Jay-Z to Portishead, and his songs probably set the mood that you were made to. Isaac Hayes died today, August 10th 2008, one day after the death of comedian Bernie Mac.
I find it amazing that some one such as Isaac can influence many generations and genres of music. In the 60's and 70's his music was the soundtrack to our parents lives. For my generation, a whole genre of music stemmed from the sampling of his music and music of others like himself such as James Brown and the Isley Brothers. Just play some of his songs and see how many samples you can recognize, it is truly amazing! To all the young bucks, I hope that you will look into Isaac Hayes and his music, and not remember him just as the voice of Chef on South Park. Rest in power Isaac, you will be missed.

Bernie Mac R.I.P
I woke up Saturday morning as I normally do, roll out of bed and click on the news. As usual there was bull shit on McCain and Obama with two so called political analysts going back and forth with each other about some irrelevant issue (not saying the Presidential Race is not a relevant issue but what they were talking about was irrelevant). Anyways, I happened to read the ticker and I thought I saw it say that Bernie Mac had died. Half asleep I wasn't sure as to what I had just seen so I waited until the ticker repeated itself and sure enough it said that Bernie Mac had died at age 50.
Born Bernard Jeffrey McCullough, he brought laughter to millions and had an extensive career in both movies and TV, not to mention that he was one of the funniest muh'fuckers on earth. It really pains me to think that I will never see Bernie, in another movie, TV Show or Stand-Up act ever again. He was an OG in the comedy world and will always remain a King.
